The City of Columbus, in collaboration with Ohio Means Jobs, will host 2023 Opportunity Rising Career and Resource Fair on Saturday, January 28, at Jerry Hammond Center, 1111 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43205 from 9am to 3pm.
“We are looking to fill hundreds of positions in a wide variety of career fields” said City of Columbus, Ohio in an invitation circulated online.
Attendees at the fair will have opportunity to:
- Meet directly with the hiring managers for multiple city departments
- Learn about the benefits of working for the City of Columbus
- Have your resume reviewed on-site and make changes before handing it out to hiring staff
- Attend various workshops such as:
- Are You Being Too Social on Social Media?
- Mastering the Interview
- Building Your Executive Presence
- Marketing Your Transferrable Skills
Also, attendees can:
- Create your online jobs profile with the City of Columbus
- Apply for City of Columbus jobs
- Apply for Civil Service exams and schedule exam dates
- Connect with the Columbus Urban League
- Learn how to earn your CDL
Tips for Attendees:
- Arrive 15 minutes before your registration time.
- Bring printed copies of your resume.
- If you plan to participate in the Resume Review, create a profile, or apply for city jobs, bring a jump drive with a digital copy of your resume or email your resume to yourself so you can easily access it in our computer labs.
- Make sure you can access to your current email address. Be sure you know your user name and password. You will need this to create a job profile.
The location is conveniently located on COTA bus routes with stops on E. Broad Street and Ohio Ave.
Parking is available in the west and south parking lots. The entry is in the southwest corner of the building.
The fair starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. You can pre-register by clicking here! You can also register in-person at the fair.
